BLOOD ORANGE
The Indian fruit
known as a Malta cultivated in the hills of Uttarakhanad, where it is used to make squash, sweets and other
products, is called a Blood Orange in other places,
like the United States. Generally thought to have originated in Italy as a variation and
cultivated there for centuries. It also is grown extensively in southern Spain
and Malta. Since it is rich in Vitamin C so it is suggested as a replacement
for other citrus fruits. The peel can be used for face-masks to reduce skin disorder
and acne, and the seeds are used to produce high protein cattle feed and also
used in fertilizers. Known to boost the immune
system and also effective for treating pneumonia, blood pressure, stomach and
intestinal problems and diseases related to vitamin C deficiency.
